Community Systems Strengthening

The Global Fund Fact Sheet on Community Systems Strengthening (CSS) provides summary information on CSS, examples of CSS initiatives and outlines their eligibility as a standard component of Global Fund grant support. CSS was introduced as a permanent element of grant applications in Round 8 and is aimed at strengthening community capacity to respond to AIDS and supporting greater participation by civil society in Global Fund grant application and implementation processes.

Supporting community-based responses to HIV/AIDS: A guidance tool for including Community Systems Strengthening in Global Fund proposals is a detailed UNAIDS guide to developing the CSS component of Global Fund grant applications.
